Postsecondary Mini-Bridging Sessions

Mini Bridging Camps*


AVTEC Mini-Bridging Camp is a 6-day session held at the AVTEC Campus in Seward. Students get the opportunity to explore the various programs AVTEC has to offer while experiencing dorm life. Below are the highlights students will experience.

  • Complete a resume, cover letter, job application and mock interview
  • Attend AVTEC classes in: Welding, Heavy/Diesel, Construction Technology, Industrial Electricity, Culinary Arts, and Office Technology.
  • Complete a real-life budgeting activity
  • Take the TABE Assessment an entrance requirement for AVTEC
  • Complete an AVTEC orientation
  • Study for and take the Alaska Driver’s Permit Test
  • Complete drug and alcohol prevention training
  • Complete suicide awareness and prevention training

Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) Mini Bridging Camp is a 6-day session held at the KPC Campus in Soldotna.  Students get the opportunity to explore the various programs KPC has to offer while experiencing dorm life. Below are the highlights students will experience:

  • Complete a resume, cover letter, job application, and mock interview
  • Attend KPC classes in: process Technology, Paramedics, Welding, Corrections, and many more
  • Complete a real-life budgeting activity
  • Take the ACCUPLACER Assessment entrance requirement 
  • Meet with the Admissions and Financial Aid Departments
  • Study for and take the Alaska Driver’s Permits and Driver’s License Exams
  • Complete drug and alcohol prevention training
  • Complete suicide awareness and prevention training

*Mini Bridging Camps vary from year to year to give students the opportunity to see as many campuses as possible. These may include University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), Illisavik, Alaska Christian College (ACC), or others. Please contact us if you have any questions.
